Report of the Minutes:


Co. F of the 31st Alabama Infantry met at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, AL for our Annual Winter Meeting:

2022 Officer Reports:

  • Colonel Scotty Myers - 1st Div. of Southern Reenactors Association

    • Voting procedures need to be followed carefully to ensure that there are no issues that should arise when at a meeting of the company.

    • Review of the First Division Balance

    • We will receive two votes for the company as we have 20 members, (companies are granted 1 vote per ten members)

    • Firearm safety - Pistols (Cream of Wheat)

    • Gettysburg - Trans-Mississippi Volunteer Infantry Battalion

  • Lt. Colonel Smith - Company Recruitment

  • Major Boothe - Tannehill (3rd - 5th March) Host Company Needs and Expectations

Old Business:

  • Lieutenant's Rank - Position/Office within the Company Rank Structure - Tabled 2022 Winter Meeting for one year. - Item was tabled again for the period of another year, until the 2024 Winter Meeting.


New Business:

1. Proposed Amendments - Discussion & Possible Adoption

Proposed Amendment # 1: (Proposed by Captain Sumner)

Article XII. Section 2.

Reads: There will be one meeting after the last scheduled event of the year for the purpose of electing officers. Official Company Events will be voted on during Spring and Fall Business Meetings.

Proposed: There will be one meeting in the Winter (January) and one meeting in the Summer months for the purpose of conducting company business, to include adoption of an official company schedule of events for each season of the year (Spring/Fall) and the election of new members into the company as well as the consideration of other matters such as the amendment of the Company Bylaws, etc.

IV. Commissioned Officers

Reads:

Definitions:

  1. CEO: Optional position as voted on by the Company. Guides and mentors the Company and sits on the Military Tribunal.

  2. CRO: Optional position as voted on by the Company. Responsible for recruiting members and communications to the members; sits on the Military Tribunal.

  3. Captain: Chairs Meetings, leads and represents the Company.

  4. Lieutenant: Acts for the Captain as required.

Proposed:

  • Commissioned Officers will be elected for two year terms or biannually at the Winter Meeting of the Company.
