A Connection to the Past

Updated: Nov 13, 2023

Looking towards the Past...

The Colors of the 3rd Virginia Regiment of Foot from the American Revolution

When looking to the past for answers to my identity, to that place from which my family has come, and to the historical footprints they have left behind; a considerable amount of time and energy has gone into investigation and to learning about my family's past.

I attribute much of what I know to the pages of a family bible which has been passed down for generations. Here, a rich heritage and genealogy has been carefully recorded, with each passing generation adding their names and brief details about "who," "what," some of "where," and "when." This has made it much easier for my purposes of piecing these items together with other sources of information I have been fortunate to identify.

I am glad to share a portion of the information that I have learned, and have included a table which presents the information I have regarding my mother's side of the family.
